One issue we’re seeing in lawns right now is called Gray Leaf Spot. This can be identified by small brown/grayish spots on the grass blade. This is a fungal disease and is typically seen in warm, humid weather. Compaction, high nitrogen fertilizer, and stress can also contribute to gray leaf spot.
This disease develops during long periods of extended moisture such as from rainfall, irrigation or morning dew. As the disease progresses, the spots expand and get darker. Over time, the infected grass dries out and will die.
This can be treated with a fungicide, so if you’re noticing these signs, act fast and give us a call. We can assess and get you started on a treatment. Let us know if you have any questions!
