Do you know the proper way to water your lawn?

There’s lots of advice out there about the best way to water your grass, so we wanted to debunk some of the most common lawn watering myths.

Myth 1: you only need to water your lawn when it turns brown.
This one is definitely not true. By the time your lawn starts turning brown, it may be too late for irrigation to help. If it gets to that point, you’ll probably have to wait for rain to green it up.

Myth 2: Water during the hottest part of the day.
This is false. So much of the water evaporates during the day that it’s wasteful and bad for the grass. Early morning watering is far more efficient and healthier for your lawn.

Myth 3: Daily watering is best in extreme heat.
This one is also not true! Grass prefers deep, less-frequent watering that allows the roots to grow deep in the soil. Aim for an inch per week, split into one or two days.
