This week, Matthews Landscape might be dealing with the paranormal. After hearing rumors of a tree massacre in town, we knew we had to investigate. What we found next is truly shocking…
Don’t commit crape murder! This happens when you trim so far down on the tree that it causes the knots to form in the branches. These don’t naturally form and can leave the tree susceptible to disease.
We recommend leaving at least 12-24 inches of your crape myrtle’s limbs and not trimming branches bigger than a pencil width. Shape it to how you like and remove the suckers, just stay away from the bigger forks in the tree. If you have any questions, let us know!
