Our Plant of the Week today is Portulaca!
Portulaca (aka Moss Rose) is one of the toughest flowers you can plant. It thrives in full sun, loves the heat, and adds vibrant color all season with very little maintenance.
Nicknamed the “9 O’Clock Flower,” its blooms open in bright sunshine and close at night or on cloudy, rainy days. Its thick, succulent-like leaves store water, making it incredibly drought tolerant.
Some popular varieties include ‘Yubi’ (all color flowers but blue) and ‘Duet’ (yellow and rose).
