Our plant of the week is Spirea, shrubs known for their hardiness, low maintenance and deer resistance. You’ll soon see Bridal Wreath Spirea blooming with cascading white flowers from March to around May.

Did you know? The name Spirea comes from the Greek word Speira, meaning “wreath,” referring to the way their flowers form clusters. Also, the name “aspirin” was derived from Spirea because the plants contain salicylic acid, a key component of the pain reliever. Culturally, Spirea flowers are often associated with wealth and abundance. Are you feeling ready for spring?
